How to Download Twitter (X) Videos on Any Device
Twitter (X) has no save button for other people's videos — you can bookmark a post or retweet it, but there's no way to keep the actual file. That's why you need a downloader. Here's how to save a clean Twitter video on every device, and it takes under a minute.
The basic method (works everywhere)
Every device follows the same three steps. The only thing that differs is where the file lands afterwards.
- Copy the tweet's link. In the app, tap the Share icon under the video, then Copy Link. On a computer, copy the URL from the address bar — it looks like
x.com/username/status/1234567890. - Open hhhtwi and paste. Tap the Paste button in the box. The tweet loads in about a second, showing every available quality with its file size.
- Pick a quality and download. Tap the resolution you want. The MP4 starts immediately — no waiting page, no watermark.
Download a Twitter video on iPhone
iPhone is the fiddly one, because Safari won't drop a video straight into Photos — it saves to the Files app instead. So the download works; the video is just one extra tap from your camera roll.
- Copy the tweet link in the Twitter (X) app (Share → Copy Link).
- Open hhhtwi.com in Safari and tap Paste.
- Tap Download HD. When Safari asks, choose Save to Files → Downloads.
- Open the Files app, tap the video, then Share → Save Video. It's now in Photos.
Tip: if you're editing the clip in CapCut, skip the last step — the MP4 sitting in Files is already the full-quality file.
Download a Twitter video on Android
Android is direct. The file lands in your Downloads folder and shows up in the gallery automatically. Copy the tweet link, paste it into hhhtwi in Chrome, pick a quality, and you're done.
Download a Twitter video on PC or Mac
On a computer you don't need the app at all. Open the tweet on x.com or twitter.com, copy the URL from the address bar, paste it into the box at the top of hhhtwi, and press Enter. Pick a quality and the MP4 goes to your Downloads folder. It works the same in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari — no extension needed.
Which quality should you pick?
Every tweet lists all its versions — usually from 270p up to 1080p — each with its exact file size. On mobile data, pick the smaller file. For editing or watching on a big screen, take the largest. If you always want the best one preselected, the HD downloader sorts the highest quality to the top.
If the download doesn't work
Almost always it's one of these:
- The tweet was deleted. If it doesn't open in a normal browser, no downloader can reach it.
- The account is protected. Only public tweets can be saved — protected (private) accounts are locked on Twitter's side.
- The video is age-restricted. Age-gated posts aren't accessible to any downloader.
- Twitter is busy. Wait a minute and retry. Because hhhtwi's servers fetch the video (not your device directly), it still works even when Twitter is blocked on a school or office network.
Do downloaded Twitter videos have a watermark?
No. Unlike some platforms, Twitter (X) doesn't stamp watermarks onto video files, and hhhtwi downloads the original file exactly as it is — nothing added, nothing re-compressed. What you get is the same video the uploader posted, at its best available quality.
That's the whole thing: copy the link, paste it into hhhtwi, pick a quality. Once you've done it once, saving a Twitter video is faster than scrolling back to find it later.
