Download videos from X, the platform formerly known as Twitter
When Twitter became X, every downloader kept talking about 'Twitter videos' while the links in your clipboard started saying x.com. This page exists so you don't have to translate in your head: paste any x.com link and get the video.
Under the hood nothing changed — X still hosts videos the same way Twitter did, in multiple resolutions up to 1080p. hhhtwi fetches the list, shows you each version with its exact file size, and streams the one you pick straight to your device.
It's the same engine as our Twitter video downloader home page. Use whichever page matches the words in your head; the results are identical.
How to download an X video
The flow is the same on every device:
- In the X app or on x.com, open the post with the video.
- Tap the Share icon and choose Copy Link.
- Paste the link in the box at the top of this page.
- Pick a quality and the MP4 downloads immediately.
What kinds of X links work?
Full post links (x.com/username/status/1234567890), old twitter.com links, mobile.twitter.com links, and t.co short links all work. Links copied from the share sheet, from DMs or from other apps work too — if it points at a public post, hhhtwi can fetch it.
What doesn't work: posts from protected accounts, deleted posts and age-restricted videos. Those are locked on X's side, not ours.
X video quality and formats
X stores each video in several resolutions — typically 270p, 360p, 720p and 1080p, occasionally higher for newer uploads. hhhtwi lists all of them with file sizes so you can decide between quality and download size before anything starts. Files are standard MP4 and play on every phone, computer and TV. If you want the highest one preselected, the HD page sorts it to the top.
Frequently asked questions
How do I download a video from X?
Open the post in the X app, tap Share → Copy Link, paste it in the box above and tap Download. Every available quality appears with its file size — pick one and it saves.
Is X video download different from Twitter video download?
No, it's the same thing. X is Twitter's new name — the videos, links and servers are identical. hhhtwi accepts both x.com and twitter.com links on every page.
My link starts with t.co — will it work?
Yes. t.co is X's own link shortener. Paste it as-is and we follow it to the actual post automatically.
Can I download X videos on iPhone?
Yes. Copy the link in the X app, paste it here in Safari, tap Download, then choose Save to Files. From the Files app you can move the video into Photos.
Why does my downloaded X video have no sound?
That shouldn't happen with hhhtwi — we always give you the complete file with audio. If a video plays silently, check your player's volume first; the file itself contains the original sound.
Can I save a GIF from X?
Yes — X GIFs are actually short looping videos, and they download as small MP4 files. There's a dedicated GIF downloader page for that.
Does it work for X photos too?
Yes. If the post contains photos, they're listed for download in original resolution — or use the photo downloader directly.
Is downloading from X free?
Yes — free, unlimited, no account. Same as every other hhhtwi tool.
