HD means the best file that actually exists
Some downloader sites promise 'HD' on every video and quietly hand you a 480p file. hhhtwi does something more honest: it reads the full list of versions Twitter stores for that video and shows all of them, highest first, each with its true resolution and file size.
If 1080p exists, you'll see 1080p and get exactly that file. If the best available is 720p, you'll see that too — no upscaling tricks, no fake labels. What Twitter has is what you get, at its very best.
For everything else about tweet downloads — GIFs, photos, x.com links — the home page covers it with the same engine.
How to get the HD version
Nothing special to configure:
- Copy the tweet's link from the Share button.
- Paste it in the box at the top of this page.
- The top button is the highest quality, already marked — tap it and the HD file saves.
What decides a Twitter video's maximum quality?
Three things: the resolution of the original upload, how much Twitter compressed it, and the upload's age (older videos were processed with tighter limits). That's why one account's videos offer 1080p while another's stop at 720p. The uploader sets the ceiling; hhhtwi gets you to that ceiling.
Big files, small data plans
HD files are worth it on Wi-Fi, but on mobile data the size labels earn their keep: check the megabytes next to the top option before tapping. If it's heavier than you'd like, the 720p file usually looks nearly identical on a phone screen at half the size.
Frequently asked questions
How do I download a Twitter video in HD?
Paste the tweet's link above and tap Download. The highest quality — usually 1080p — is listed first and marked. One tap saves it.
Is every Twitter video available in 1080p?
No — you can only download qualities the uploader's file actually had. Most recent videos from phones and cameras have 720p or 1080p; older or heavily compressed uploads may top out lower. hhhtwi always shows the full list so you can see what exists.
Can I download Twitter videos in 4K?
Twitter re-encodes most uploads with 1080p as the practical ceiling. On the rare occasions a higher version exists, it appears in the list automatically.
Why does the HD file take longer to download?
It's simply bigger — a 1080p minute of video can be 20–40 MB versus a few MB at 360p. The file size next to each option tells you exactly what you're committing to.
HD or small file — which should I pick?
Watching once on a phone? The middle option is fine. Keeping it, editing it, or watching on a TV? Take the HD file — you can always make a big file smaller later, but never the reverse.
Does HD download work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, identically. On iPhone the file saves via the Files app; on Android it goes straight to Downloads.
Is the HD downloader free?
Yes. Every quality on hhhtwi is free — HD is not a premium tier here.
